# Privacy

Framecap processes screenshots, annotations, OCR, and local automation on the Mac. It does not intentionally upload screenshots and its MCP server is local stdio. Diagnostic records do not contain source frames.

The AI client or model service chosen by the user may upload images, extracted text, prompts, or tool results under that service's terms. “Framecap is local” therefore does not mean the entire AI workflow stays on-device. Queue files are restricted to the current macOS user but are not a security boundary against other processes running as that user.
